In the midst of the prevailing heatwave, residents of the capital experienced a welcomed respite as rain arrived around 3:30 pm on Tuesday. The Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the onset of rain in Dhaka and various other parts of the country, with the possibility of continued rainfall expected for tomorrow. Despite this relief, the ongoing mild heatwave is anticipated to persist, with temperatures remaining high.

Reports indicate rainfall in several areas of Dhaka, including Paltan, Shyamoli, Jatrabari, Mogbazar, Hatirjheel, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Badda, Rampura, Khilgaon, Basabo, Gulistan, and Motijheel, alleviating the intense heat experienced in recent days.

Following the Eid holiday, Dhaka's traffic congestion has not yet returned to its previous levels, resulting in smooth traffic flow on the roads. However, individuals caught outdoors during the sudden rain experienced some inconvenience.

Earlier forecasts from the Meteorological Department had warned of a storm with wind speeds reaching 80 km/h across five regions, including Dhaka. From 2 pm to 1 am on Tuesday, inland river ports were advised to prepare for adverse weather conditions.

The forecast predicts the possibility of temporary strong winds, ranging from 60 to 80 km/h, accompanied by rain or thundershowers over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Faridpur, Kushtia, and Comilla regions, originating from the west or northwest direction. River ports in these areas have been urged to display naval warning signal number 2.
