Cyclone Remal Approaches, Final Hit By Evening

Cyclone Remal is approaching the Bangladesh coast and already it was with 300 km from Payra port on Saturday midnight, said the Meteorological Department. This information was given in the latest special notification number 9 by the Meteorological Department.

Meteorologist of the Meteorological department Tariqul Newaz Kabir told this Sunday morning to the media, 'Cyclone Remal is approaching the coast of Bangladesh. As a result of this, there may be rain in different parts of the country today.'

Cyclone Remal was located 405 km southwest of Chattogram seaport, 355 km southwest of Cox's Bazar sea port, 340 km south of Mongla seaport, and 300 km south of Payra sea port, according to the latest special notification of the Meteorological Department. It is likely to intensify and move further northeastwards.

The maximum sustained wind speed within 54 km of the cyclone center is 62 kmph. It grows up to 88 km in the form of gusts or gusts. The sea is very rough in the area near the cyclone center.

Payra and Mongla seaports have been advised to hoist danger signal number 7 immediately after the cyclone was declared. Apart from this, Chattogram and Cox's Bazar seaports have been asked to show danger signal number 6.

According to the special notification number 7 signed by meteorologist Hafizur Rahman of the Meteorological Department, the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Pirojpur, Jhalkathi, Barguna, Barishal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Laxmipur, Feni, Comilla, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and their nearest islands and char are affected by the cyclone. Low-lying areas of islands and shoals may be inundated by wind-driven tides 3 to 5 feet higher than normal tides.

According to the notification, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in all parts of the country under the influence of Cyclone Remal.
