BSMRSTU Student Gang-Raped: Outsiders attack Students

Some outsiders attacked the students of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU) who did not lift the blockade from the highway even after the agreement was reached in Gopalganj. At least eight students were injured in the incident.

At the time, the university proctor's car, a local bus, and a truck were vandalized. The attack occurred on Thursday (February 24) at around 4:45 pm.

Meanwhile, the students lifted the blockade on the Dhaka-Khulna highway about 11 hours later. From then on, transport communication on Dhaka-Khulna and Gopalganj-Pirojpur highways back to normal again.

Earlier, agitated students have blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway in Gopalganj from 8 am today in protest of the gang rape of a student of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (BSMRSTU).

According to the students, the victim student was walking with her friend in front of the Nabinbagh Helipad in Gopalganj Sadar. 7/8 people from the middle of the road picked them up in an Auto. Later, they took them to the building under construction of Gopalganj district school, beat his classmate and raped her.

When the students of the university came to know about the incident, they took the position in front of the police station at night and gave a three-point demand and ultimatum. Later today, the students blocked the road from around 6 am.
