Police have arrested four individuals, including a Chhatra League leader, on charges of forcibly confining a husband and raping his wife at Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall at Jahangirnagar University (JU).
Last night, on Saturday (February 3), around 9 PM, an incident occurred in the adjacent forest of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall at Jahangirnagar University, involving a Chhatra League leader and an outsider.
Subsequently, at midnight, the police, along with the university administration, launched an operation. According to the statement given by the victim, the accused are identified as Mustafizur Rahman, a student of the 45th batch of the International Relations Department, and Mamun (45), an outsider. Mustafizur Rahman is a resident student of Mir Mosharraf Hossain Hall, the secretary of the International Affairs section of the Chhatra League, and a follower of the president of the JU Chhatra League.
Later, footage from the hall's CCTV camera reveals that the accused Mustafiz leaves the dining hall gate. At this time, the gate is opened, and he is assisted by Hasan Pranto from the 45th batch of the International Relations Department, Sagar Siddique from the 46th batch, and Sabbir Hasan from the 47th batch of the Zoology Department. Subsequently, the police arrest them from the hall, and later, Mustafizur Rahman surrenders.
