Sheikh Abdul
Hakim, the popular spy thriller series Masud Rana's ghostwriter, passed away at
his residence in Madartek in the capital on Saturday afternoon (August 28).
According to
family sources, the writer had been suffering from bronchitis for a long time.
Born in 1948 in
Hugli, West Bengal, Hakim moved to the then East Pakistan (Bangladesh) with his
family at the age of four after partition.
Sheikh Abdul Hakim is popular for
writing the popular thriller series Sheba Prokashoni’s ‘Masud Rana”. He also
wrote various romantic novels, western series, and adventure books. The writer
came to light following the copyright issue of the much talked Masud Rana
series last year.
The copyright office on June 14,
2020, granted the copyright of 260 books of "Masud Rana Series" and
50 books of "Kuasha Series" to its ghostwriter Sheikh Abdul Hakim.
Later, Kazi Anwar Hossain filed a petition challenging the order.
