With the slogan 'Droher Ghrane Prachir Vango, Urte Daw Ghashforing', Jahangirnagar University's cultural organization 'Dhwoni' is going to organize a four-day-long recitation festival titled as 'Kobi Mohammad Rafiq Abriti Utshab 2023 (Poet Mohammad Rafiq Recitation Festival-2023)'.
The recitation festival will start at 7 p.m. every day from Monday (September 18) to Friday (September 22) at the University's Selim Al Deen Muktamancha.
On September 18 at 11 a.m., the curtain will rise on the festival of recitals with an inaugural procession from the Amar Ekush sculpture chattar.
Md. Monirul Islam, convener of Poet Mohammad Rafiq Recitation Festival 2023, said that renowned recitation artists will be present in our four-day-long event in memory of the late poet Mohammad Rafiq. Hope everyone will enjoy this event.
The organizers also said that the curtain of the festival will be raised on the first day on September 18 with a joyous procession. On the second day of the festival, there will be solo performances by Mahmuda Akhtar and Shimul Salahuddin and a recitation called 'Tomar Amar Ei Juddho Khetre' by “Dhwoni” Production. The third day of the festival will feature the Stamford University Literary Forum's production of 'Payer Awaj Pawa Zay', a memorial will be read and silence will be observed in memory of poet Mohammad Rafiq.
Renowned fiction writer, researcher, and essayist Akimun Rahman will receive meritorious honors in this four-day-long event. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Nurul Alam will be present as the chief guest.
Also, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Md. Manjurul Haque and the country's elite recital artists and members of the public will be present.
It is noted that Jahangirnagar University's Dhwoni has been working for twenty-six years in recitation, poetry, and elocution.
