Director-General of Indian Coast Guard Krishnaswamy Natarajan arrived here on Sunday on a four-day visit, reports UNB.
The visit of the Indian Coast Guard chief to Bangladesh will strengthen defense cooperation particularly in the field of the maritime domain and will fortify the close and fraternal ties existing between the Coast Guards of the two countries, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka on Monday.
The Director-General is accompanied by two delegation members.
During the visit, the Director-General will meet high ranking dignitaries of Bangladesh - the Home Minister, Chief of Naval Staff and Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard.
The Director-General will also attend a high-level meeting between Indian and Bangladesh Coast Guards.
