In 3yrs, 2961 power dept officials made int’l trips: Power ministry

Around 2,961 officials of the Power Department have travelled abroad under several projects in the last three years.

Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR) revealed the information during a meeting of parliamentary committee yesterday.

The committee also asked the Power Department to be cautious regarding the tours abroad so that any unnecessary trips or any irregularities regarding them do not take place.

According to the logbook presented at the meeting, 1,226 persons went abroad for training, eight went to attend workshops, 28 went to attend several seminars and the rest of the 1,703 persons went for different reasons including Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI).
