Rumpa’s Friend Arrested after Quizzing

Abdur Rahman Saikat, a friend of Stamford University student Rubaiyat Sharmin Rumpa whose body was found in alley in Dhaka on Wednesday night, has been arrested after interrogation.

Detectives Branch of police- DB took Saikat in their custody for interrogation yesterday but they arrested him today, Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said.

He will be produced before a Dhaka court later in the day with a seven-day remand prayer, added Masudur Rahman.
