HC Tells Govt to Unearth Real Cause of Pilkhana Carnage

The High Court has told the government should find out the real cause behind the much talked about Pilkhana carnage and reveal the quarter behind the atrocity.

A High Court justice has said that the government can do this by forming a probe committee and taking crucial steps. 

On Jan 8, the 29,059 pages full verdict on the Pilkhana killing was published on Wednesday (Jan 8), by a three-member High Court bench led by Justice Md Shawkat Hossain.

The other members of the bench are Justices Md Abu Zafor Siddique and Md Nazrul Islam Talukder.

Justice Abu Zafor Siddique has given 11 recommendations in his verdict which include:

1. overhauling of the security-related unit RSU, of Bangladesh Rifles with honest and capable members,

2. taking steps against RSU members who were on duty during the Pilkhana carnage for negligence to responsibility,

3. legal steps against government intelligence agencies for failing to take measures which could have given a prior warning of the Pilkhana conspiracy.
