Shariat Boyati's Bail Plea Rejected

A Tangail court has rejected Baul singer Shariat Boyati's bail plea, who was arrested for allegedly making comments that hurt Muslims ' "religious sentiments."

Mohammad Showkat Ali Chowdhury District & Sessions Judge, Tangail, passed the order today afternoon.

Lawyer Anisur Rahman Humayun moved for the petitioner during a court hearing while PC S Akbar Khan stood for the state.

Earlier on January 14, the Baul singer was sent to jail after a three-day remand.
