SSC Examinee Killed in Gopalganj Clash

A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee was killed and at least 10 other people wounded during a clash in Gopalganj.

Sixteen-year-old Rony Howlader was killed, after being shot by a former member of Union Parishad on Thursday (Jan 30).

Gopalganj Sadar Police OC Md Monirul Islam said, the clash stemmed from a long-standing feud between Azizur Sheikh, a former Union Parishad member, and the family of Bhulu Molla.

He said that during the clash Ajijul Sheikh opened fire, and Rony, a bystander, was killed on spot.

Gopalganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Mohammad Sanwar Hossain said they had deployed police in the area and attempted to arrest those concerned.

He added that the body has been sent to Gopalganj Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
