‘Nationwide Underground Electricity Lines by 2025’

State Minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said the government plans over the next five years to take overhead electricity lines and underground power sub-stations in various districts throughout Bangladesh.

The State Minister made a statement during a contract signing ceremony at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka on Wednesday.

“As part of the plan, Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Comilla, and their neighborhoods will be primarily brought under the underground electricity network,” he said.

Gradually, the coverage will be extended to the districts of Khulna, Barisal, Faridpur, Rajshahi and Rangpur, Nasrul added.
