Coronavirus Screening in Bangladesh "Unscientific": Chinese Envoy

Terming coronavirus screening "unscientific" in Bangladesh, Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming said the measures taken by Bangladesh to control coronavirus are unsatisfactory.

He said that approximately 95 percent of new coronavirus infections are being reported outside China, yet the government in Bangladesh is screening only passengers coming from China at the airports.

The envoy came up with the revelation when briefing reporters at a function in Dhaka in Keraniganj.

He was updated on the current operations being undertaken by a subsidiary of China Railway Group Limited at Padma Bridge and Padma Rail link ventures.

Li Jiming also urged officials in Bangladesh to check anyone coming into the country and prohibited the government from holding large gatherings.
