1 Held With Gold Worth Tk1.5cr at Dhaka Airport

Dhaka Custom House (DCH) has arrested a man at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for carrying 2.95 kilograms of gold.

The man, identified as Sheikh Sadi, was arrested yesterday night.

Custom House Assistant Commissioner Solaiman Saif said acting on a tip-off, a DCH team challenged Sheikh Sadi, a passenger of Flight MH196 which landed in Dhaka from Malaysia at 11:30 pm.

After a body search, customs officials recovered 2.95 kilograms of gold worth Tk1.5 crore.

The arrestee was handed over to the police.
