Drug Dealer Duo Arrested in Jessore

The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested two drug dealers with smuggling liquors inside a car in Jessore Town, disguised as Ekattor TV's press vehicle.

The anti-drug department drove and arrested Oli Ullah, 40, and Md Shanto, 48, with 120 bottles of imported liquor and 600 cans of beer this afternoon.

Jessore DNC Inspector (' Ka ' circle) Helal Uddin Bhuiyan said: "Based on a tip-off, the police carried out a drive and seized the narcotics after inspecting the vehicle in front of a private hospital on the Jail road in the city."

After primary questioning, the arrestees confessed that, in order to escape arrest, they had been trafficking drugs using vehicles with press stickers of influential media organizations.

A case is being filed in this regard and once the duo is shown arrested, a prayer seeking for their remand will be submitted, said Jessore DNC Deputy Director Md Bahauddin.
