Rape Charges: 2 RU Students Arrested

Police have arrested two students of Rajshahi University for their accused role in a rape case lodged at the Matihar City Police Station.

The arrestees are Jahid, 26, a student of public administration, and Tarun, 25, a student of sociology. They are both participants of the 2014-15 university sessions.

Jahid, who used to be the tutor of the rape victim, manipulated her into Tarun's relative's house behind Rajshahi Commerce College around 12 p.m. on February 15.

After that, Jahid raped the girl while Tarun held guard, and then forced her to take a pregnancy pill to prevent unwanted pregnancy, as per the case report.

"When Jahid refused to marry the girl, her father filed a case yesterday, and we arrested the two from Shah Makhdum Hall around 1:30 a.m. the same night," said OC Masud Parvez.
