Teen Goes Missing in Kushiyara River

A teenage boy went missing, feared drowned in the Kushiyara River in Osmaninagar Upazila yesterday.

The missing boy was named as Maruf Mia, 17, son of Dulal Mia of Fatullah Upazila, Narayanganj district.

Subinoy Biadya, sub-inspector of the Osmaninagar Police Station, said Maruf, along with 18 others, went to the Osmaninagar Upazila Mosque to join the Tablig Jamaat program.

Yesterday noon, Maruf along with two others went to the Kushiyara River for taking bath.

At one stage, Maruf went missing while swimming in the river.

On information, police, firefighting units rushed in and conducted a salvage operation.
