5 Killed in Bagerhat Bus-Truck Collision

After a bus crashed head-on with a rod-laden truck on the Khulna-Mawa highway in Kakdanga area in Fakirhat Upazila, five people were killed and 12 others wounded.

One of the deceased was named Rafiza, a 4-month-old child, although the names of three men and another woman could not yet be confirmed.

ANM Khairul Anam, officer-in-charge at Fakirhat Police Station, said the Madaripur-bound bus from Khulna collided with the truck about 4 p.m., leaving three people dead on the spot and 14 others wounded.

Later, two of the injured succumbed to their injuries on the way to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex, the OC added.  

Police members, firefighters, and local people rescued the injured and admitted them to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex and Khulna Medical College Hospital.
