Bangladesh Confirms 2nd Death from Coronavirus

Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malik said Bangladesh has confirmed the second death from the novel coronavirus, taking the count to two.

Four individuals among those whose samples were analyzed in the last 24 hours tested positive for COVID-19. Despite this, the number of infections was at 24, the minister said this when attending a Saturday press conference on the coronavirus situation.

Earlier on March 18, Bangladesh confirmed the country’s first death from COVID-19.

The country was recording its first three COVID-19 incidents. For the latest ones of today, the overall amount stood at 24.

The latest coronavirus pandemic, first identified in December of last year in the Chinese town of Wuhan, continued to spread to neighboring nations.

According to Worldometer, a database that compiles a list of confirmed infections of coronavirus and fatalities from it, the lethal virus spread to at least 185 countries and territories killing about 11,417 people worldwide.

The infection has been detected by as many as 276,462 individuals worldwide. Among them, the website claimed 91,954 citizens healed from the infection.
