Govt Relaxes Deadline for Paying Gas Bills over COVID-19 Outbreak

The government has decided to relax the deadline for paying residential consumers ' February-May 2020 gas bills in a bid to control the rapid spread of coronavirus.

On Sunday the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral resources issued a notification to this regard.

Consumers have to wait in front of banks for paying their bills on time, which creates massive physical interactions that might place them in the danger of COVID-19 being impaired, the notification said.

Without any surcharge or late fee under the Gas Delivery Regulations (Residential)-2014, residential consumers can take the opportunity to pay the above-mentioned month's gas bill in June 2020.
