Combating Coronavirus:
Grameenphone today said that it will donate 50,000 medical-grade personal protective equipment (PPEs) and 10,000 test kits to health professionals at the frontline of the coronavirus crisis.
The PPEs and test kits will be distributed to hospitals approved by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) for the care of coronavirus patients, according to a press release.
But the company did not say when they were going to hand over the equipment.
The PPEs will have safety coats, N95 masks, gloves, and goggles.
The Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone, Yasir Azman, said the organization is stepping up its donation to support the country at this difficult period.
The government even celebrated their effort. Telecom Minister Mustafa Jabbar has shared the belief that this would inspire many individuals and organizations to come forward.
"I believe other companies will also come forward and stand beside the government to tackle the COVID-19 outbreak to the best of their abilities," said Jabbar.
Grameenphone, in association with the 'Access to Information' (a2i) system and the DGHS, has also created awareness among the masses through various initiatives.
