Pray at Home in the Night of Shab-e-Barat: Islamic Foundation

On Saturday, the Islamic Foundation urged the people of Muslim faith to give prayers from their home in Shab-e-Barat, the Holy Night of fortune and forgiveness to be observed on April 9.

"Pray at home in Shab-e-Barat for the safety of the people during the crisis of the pandemic," the Islamic Foundation said in a press release.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) Coronavirus Guideline and the Prime Minister's brief address, everybody is advised to obey the Islamic Foundation's Guideline, he added.

Educational facilities have been shut down, public holidays have been declared, and the government has instructed the people to preserve their social isolation, according to the report.

In the meantime, the Islamic Foundation has advised the Imams to begin their five-fold prayers and Jum'a prayers in mosques with minimal devotees.

Earlier on Monday, the Islamic Foundation released a range of recommendations on different topics, including providing namaz and ensuring human health in mosques, and funerals for coronavirus patients.

It suggested people refrain from committing sins and offer the following’ Duas” frequently:

“La Ilaha Illa, anta subahanaka inni kuntu minaz jolimin.”

Due to the Islamic religion, Shab-e-Barat is the night that God takes charge of the affairs of the next year. During this moment, God records the destinies of all beings for the next year, taking into consideration their previous actions.

Islamic devotees may give unique prayers, reciting the Holy Quran, carrying milad, zikr and other religious ceremonies that pursue divine blessings for the well-being of mankind.
