Public Transport to Remain Suspended until April 14

The operation of public transport will remain suspended until April 14 aiming to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said on Monday.

Emergency services, fuel, medicine, vehicles carrying perishable goods and relief materials will remain out of the purview of the restriction.

No goods-laden transport will be allowed to carry passengers.

Earlier, the government had suspended bus, train and launch services until April 4.

Later, the suspension extended till April 11.

Meanwhile, three more people have died of coronavirus in Bangladesh, taking the total death toll in the country to 12, said IEDCR in an online press briefing on Monday.

However, 35 more people have been tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 123.
