CMP: None Can Enter Or Leave Port City

In an effort to curtail the spread of coronavirus, the Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) imposed restrictions on the travel of individuals and all modes of transport.

No individual or vehicle will be permitted to enter or exit the port city, except for emergency services.

The order was given by CMP Commissioner Mahabubur Rahman on Monday evening.

Confirming the issue, CMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Public Relations) Abu Bakar Siddique said that the order would be effective from 10:00 p.m. on Monday and will stay effective until further notice.

"The CMP has already set up check-posts at every port city entry-level. Necessary legal proceedings will be taken against any violator of the order, "said the police officer.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus death toll has risen to 12 in Bangladesh, as the government reported three more deaths on Monday.

So far, 123 people have been diagnosed in Bangladesh, 35 alone in the last 24 hours. Thirty-three people recovered from the virus.
