Gazipur City Goes under Complete Lockdown

Both 57 municipalities of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) have been locked in an attempt to shield city dwellers from infectious coronavirus and avoid its spread.

GCC Mayor M Jahangir Alam declared on Tuesday the increase of both coronavirus deaths and infections in the country.     

He said they had to go for the lockdown to contain the virus and check its spread.

During the lockdown, all types of mass gatherings will remain banned and no-one can come out of their residences without any emergency need.

No vehicle will be allowed to enter or exit the area.

Check-posts have been set up at 10 critical points on two of the city's highways to better implement the lock-down.
