Malaysia Returnee Dies Of Coronavirus-Like Symptoms in B’baria

A 37-year-old Malaysia returnee died of coronavirus-like symptoms in Nasirnagar Upazila, Brahmanbaria.

The man suffering from fever, cough and breathing difficulties died about 8:30 p.m., hours after he was admitted to the Upazila Health Complex yesterday, media reported quoting Dr. Avijit Roy, Nasirnagar Health Officer.

After his death, family members and friends, with the exception of the deceased's wife, fled the hospital, the doctor said.

The body was buried in his village at about 3:00 a.m. today by medical staff after gathering samples for the coronavirus examination, Dr. Avijit added.

They asked the police to place the family members in isolation, he added.

The father of Malaysia returned said that his son returned to Bangladesh on March 18 and went to his home in Upazila after completing his quarantine at home for 14 days.

On April 4, he started showing coronavirus-like syndromes, the father said.

He appears to have been suffering from typhoid after the blood examination, he said.

Police locked his in-laws 'home early this morning, said Anisur Rahman, the Brahmanbaria Police Superintendent.

Dr. Avijit said that the man had been buried because they did not get help from local authorities in this regard.
