Man Suffering From Fever, Cough Dies in Sherpur; 16 Houses Locked Down

Local administration on Thursday locked up 16 houses after the death of a man from fever and cough in the village of Satpakia Moddhyopara in Sadar Upazila.

The 42-year-old man used to sell pigeons in the town.

Quoting family members, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Firoze Al Mamun said the man had been suffering from fever for the last two to three days and his condition had deteriorated on Wednesday night.

He died at 6 a.m. on Thursday, as health authorities obtained samples from his body, he added.

The local administration locked up 16 houses after the assassination, the UNO said.

Civil Surgeon Dr. AKM Anwarul Rouf said none of 30 samples found positive for coronavirus until Wednesday in the district.

Twelve more samples were sent for testing on Thursday, he said adding that two women still at hospital isolation are doing well.
