Joypurhat Youth Dies From Fever, Cough; 10 Houses Locked Down

Local administration put 10 houses under lockdown after the death of young people showing 'flu-like symptoms' in Khetlal Upazila on Thursday.

Joypurhat Civil Surgeon Dr. Selim Mia said the youth, a worker at a food factory in Bogura, had suffered from fever and cold for the last eight days.

He was sent home by the factory owner on Wednesday night and the youth died at 12 p.m. when being admitted to the hospital on Thursday, Dr. Selim said.

Test from his body was sent to the study, while ten houses in the region were locked up after his burial, he said.

A total of five people have been sent in isolation and 79 are staying in home quarantine in the district as of Thursday.

Bangladesh registered more coronavirus deaths in the last 24 hours and 112 new infections, raising the total to 330 in Bangladesh.

The global coronavirus death toll was 88,565 as of Thursday.
