General Holidays in Bangladesh Extended until April 25

The government extended the current "general holiday" for another eleven days, until April 25.

Holidays have been expanded to prevent coronavirus transmission throughout the country and to encourage people to stay at home and maintain social distances.

On 23 March, the government announced public holidays from 26 March to 4 April, with the intention of preventing the spread of deadly coronavirus, and then expanded the holidays to 14 April.

Yet kitchen markets, food shops, pharmacies, hospitals, and other emergency services will remain out of the general holidays.
