BGMEA Announces Shutdown of Garment Factories till April 25

Garment factory owners today decided to keep their factories shut up until April 25, in accordance with the government's decision to extend the closure.

The joint statement was posted on a WhatsApp message thread to a group of journalists by the BGMEA today.

If a factory owner decides to pay employees at this period, they need to notify the BGMEA, BKMEA, and the Industrial Police, according to the notice.

Previously, both associations suggested that their representatives complete the allocation of March wages to garment workers by 16 April.
