5 More Die Of COVID-19 in Bangladesh, Death Toll Reaches 39

The coronavirus death toll in Bangladesh soared to 39 after five new deaths were reported in the 24-hour at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.

Another 182 people tested positive for the virus, taking 803 infection reports, Health Minister Jahid Maleque said in an online briefing on Monday afternoon.

The tally of recovery has also increased to 42 with three more patients returning home.

"Community transmission has already started ... we will be alert to ensure that it can be contained ... please stay indoors," he said.

He reiterated that Bangladesh is indeed in a stronger position than the United States and Europe.
