Govt Declares Entire Bangladesh at Risk of COVID-19 pandemic

The government today declared Bangladesh as a whole at risk of a coronavirus pandemic as the outbreak has spread to various parts of the country.

Professor Abul Kalam Azad, Director-General of the Health Division, issued a circular making the declaration this afternoon.

"Bangladesh has been declared at risk of infection under the Infectious Diseases (Prevention, Control, and Elimination) Act 2018."

"It will not be easy to monitor the transmission of the virus if the physical distance cannot be guaranteed," read the notice.
