266 More Test Positive for COVID-19 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh confirmed 266 new cases of coronavirus, raising the overall number of affected persons in the country in 1838, said  Minister of Health.

The death toll from the virus rose to 75 as 15 more patients died in the last 24 hours, Health Minister Zahid Maleque said during an online briefing on Friday afternoon.

It is the largest number of deaths due to COVID-19 a day in the country since the virus was first identified in Bangladesh on 8 March.

The recovery tally exceeded 58, with nine more people recovering from the infection in the last 24 hours.

A total of 2,190 samples have been checked over the last 24 hours, he added.

Coronavirus is affecting 210 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.
