Bangladesh Reports 3382 Confirmed Cases

The tally of confirmed coronavirus infections soared to 3,382 in Bangladesh after 434 people tested positive in the last 24 hours, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said today.

The death toll also soared up to 110 as 9 new deaths were reported, Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director General (administration) of the DGHS said during the regular online briefing.

Meanwhile, 2 people fully recorded from the disease taking the total number of recovered patients to 87, Dr Nasima said.

A total of 2,974 samples were tested across the country since yesterday, which is seven percent more than the previous day, she added.

The global death toll from coronavirus reached 170,435 on Tuesday morning.

According to the worldometer, 2,481,253 cases have been recorded around the world so far since the disease was first identified in China in December last year.

For those affected, 1,663,970 are still being handled and 56,766 are in moderate or critical condition.

So far, 646,848 people have recovered.

The World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
