25 Personnel of a Police Station Catch Coronavirus

Thirty two police officers tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Gazipur.

Among the infected police officers, 25 work at the Gachha Police Station in the city and seven rest at the Kaliganj Police Station.

Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Md Anwar Hossain said 20 Gachha Police Station officials and staff were newly afflicted with COVID-19 on Monday. Five from the station contracted a deadly virus earlier.

The all patients are in isolation, said the police station officer-in-charge Ismail Hossain, adding that despite this activity in is on. 

Meanwhile, seven cops work at Kaliganj Police Station caught the virus, confirmed Pankaj Datya, additional police superintendent of Kaliganj-Kapasia circle.
