Coronavirus Patient Flees Sylhet Hospital

A coronavirus patient receiving treatment at Osmani Medical College Hospital fled the hospital on Thursday.

Faruk Ahmed, in-charge of Osmani Medical College and Hospital, said that a pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital and gave birth to a dead boy on April 22.

The woman developed coronavirus symptoms at the hospital and the medical authority collected samples for the coronavirus test. They confirmed on Thursday that the patient got infected.

After getting the report, the woman left the hospital secretly.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus cases in Sylhet division rose to 49 as 16 more people were diagnosed with the virus on Thursday, said deputy director of Osmani Medical College and Hospital Himangshu Lal Roy.
