4 of a Family Contract Coronavirus in Tangail

A total of five people, including four family members, were newly diagnosed with the novel coronavirus in Tangail.

As a consequence, 21 cases of the virus were reported in the area, civil surgeon Dr. Mohammad Wahiduzzaman confirmed on Friday.

Samples from 113 people from different district Upazilas were sent to the Institute for Epidemiology Disease Control and Study (IEDCR) on Thursday. Among them, five had positive coronavirus results, he said.

He also claimed that all newly infected people are in their homes. Four of them are the inhabitants of Sakhipur, and one is the inhabitants of Gopalpur.

So far, a total of 1,044 samples have been examined from the district. Two more people have recovered from the disease and one person died while undergoing treatment, he added.
