9 Fire Service Employees Infected with COVID-19

Nine people, including officers and employees of the Fire Service and the Department of Civil Defense, have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Of them, one person is in quarantine, while the other eight are in institutional quarantine.

Md Shahjahan Sikder, officer-in-charge of the Fire Service Headquarters, revealed these details on Sunday afternoon.

He said they were assumed to have been diagnosed with COVID-19 when involved in firefighting and rescue operations.

"Seven out of the nine people affected are from the Sadarghat Fire Station, while two from the Postogola Fire Station," he said.

The official has confirmed that they're both physically healthy. They are, however, under close surveillance. They will be kept in isolation or hospitalized, depending on their physical condition.
