COVID-19: Foreigner, 21 Others Infected in Chattogram

A citizen of Sri Lanka and 21 others were infected with coronavirus in Chattogram on Wednesday.

Dr. Sheik Fazle Rabbi, a civil surgeon, said the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University test reports confirmed the cases.

The 47-year-old Sri Lankan has been working at a garment factory in Karnaphuli Export Processing Zone and living at a rented house in Khulshi residential, Rabbi said.

Two policemen and three Coast Guard personnel are among those infected. 

So far, 116 people were found positive for coronavirus in Chattogram. Nine of them died and 32 have recovered, the civil surgeon said.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the country reported 790 new incidents, taking to 11,719 confirmed cases. Three more people died, bringing the virus death toll in the country to 186 on Wednesday.
