Special Teams to Inquire Health of Police Personnel Infected with COVID-19

Special teams are formed by different police units to visit and inquire about the health of Covid-19's positive police personnel in person while maintaining physical distance.

"Teams will meet Covid-19's positive police personnel, inquire about their health condition and take action to address their issues to guarantee that they are handled by everyone irrespective of their roles in the department," said a press release from the police headquarters.

Inspector-General of Police Benazir Ahmed directed to form the teams in every unit.

The action was taken to ensure that infected police personnel and others in isolation and quarantine do not feel demoralized, according to police officials.

Till Friday (yesterday), at least 1,429 police officers have been infected, of whom 708 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
