Govt to Take Steps to Recoup Losses: Fisheries And Livestock Minister

Minister of Fisheries and Livestock SM Rezaul Karim said on Sunday that the Government will take all necessary steps to recover the losses caused by the coronavirus outbreak in the fisheries and livestock sector.

"The government has taken a massive plan to provide all the necessary assistance, including financial assistance, loans, intensive and technical assistance, to farmers, farm owners and commercial entrepreneurs," he said.

The Minister came up with the details when speaking at a view-to-exchange meeting with the official concerned of the Government, from his place of residence to the city on-line.

Rezaul also urged the officials concerned of the Ministry to perform their duties with the utmost honesty and sincerity.

Expressing concern over the post-coronavirus situation, the Minister also asked the officials concerned to perform their duties in both offices and field level to ensure the nonstop production of fish, meat, milk and egg.

He also instructed that the requisite measures be taken to insure that citizens can conveniently buy food, milk, meat and eggs under mobile stalls.
