345 Members of Armed Forced Admitted to CMH with COVID-19

A total of 345 members of the Armed Forces, both in-service and retired military/civilian members and their families, have been admitted to Dhaka CMH after being infected with Covid-19 until today (Monday).

The media release of the Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate stated that 88 infected patients have fully recovered and returned to their respective families, six died and all other admitted patients are all well.

Of the deaths, four are aged over 70 years of age and two are serving as members of the army, both of whom have suffered multiple incurable physical complications, according to the ISPR media report.

Adequate steps for the medical care of leaders of the Corona-infected Armed Forces have been taken by the Bangladesh Army as soon as the outbreak of COVID-19 has begun in Bangladesh.

Throughout this context, appropriate measures have been taken at the Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and other CMHs situated in other cantonments.

There are three RT-PCR machines at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) and 10 at the CMHs in other cantonments for coronavirus research by registered representatives of the Bangladesh Armed Forces and their families.

A total of  3194 samples have been tested in AFIP under its own management until today (Monday). Besides, all CMHs also have adequate stock of medical equipment including PPE, masks, gloves, and necessary medicines. The presence of full-time trained physicians in CMHs is being ensured as planned, the ISPR media release added.
