Super Cyclone ‘Amphan’: BIWTC Suspends Ferry Services

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation on Tuesday suspended ferry services on different routes as super cyclone ‘Amphan’ is likely to hit Bangladesh by Wednesday afternoon/evening.

The ferry services on Paturia-Daulatdia, Shimulia-Kathalbari, Chandur-Shariatpur, Bhola-Laxmipur, Bedhuria-Laharhat will remain suspended until further notice, said Md Jahangir Alam Khan, Senior Information Officer of the Ministry of Shipping.

Super cyclone 'Amphan' has moved more north-north and is expected to arrive by Wednesday afternoon/evening, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said Tuesday morning.
