Record One-Day Spike in COVID-19 Cases

Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh jumped to 26,738 as 1,617 more people tested positive for the disease in the last 24 hours as of Wednesday.

The death toll from the disease, which originated in Wuhan of China, also rose to 386 as 16 more people died within this period.

Additional Director General of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Prof Dr Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure at its daily online briefing.

In the last 24 hours, 42 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 10,207 samples, she added.

The global death toll from the deadly coronavirus has reached 324, 910 as of Wednesday.
