PM Donates Tk122.02cr to All Mosques

Prime Minister Sheik Hasina has given over Taka 122.02 crore financial assistance to all mosques around the country during the coronavirus crisis.

The donation money was sent today to the districts concerned via electronic fund transfer (EFT) and the donation is distributed through Deputy Commissioners, Upazila Nirbahi Officers and Directors or Deputy Directors of the Islamic Foundation, said a press release from the Islamic Foundation.

According to the press release, owing to the widespread epidemic of coronavirus (Covid-19) in the region, devotees are unable to conduct their prayers in the country's mosques for different purposes, including the preservation of health rules and social distance.

As a result, the income of the mosques declined owing to a decline in contributions and other assistance. Therefore, it has been impossible to reach the everyday expenses of the mosques, the release added.

In the current case, the Prime Minister has made contributions to every mosque to relieve the financial burdens of the mosques.
