COVID-19 Death Toll Soars Up to 522

Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh soared up by a significant number recently as 1,166 new patients tested positive in the 24-hour period till Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 36,751.

During this period, 21 more people died as a consequence of the widespread of COVID-19 disease, resulting in 522 deaths.

Prof. Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director-General of the Directorate-General for Health Services (DGHS), made the statement at his daily online briefing.

In the last 24 hours, 48 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 5,407 samples, she added.

She also said that 245 coronavirus-infected people have made a complete recovery in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the number of total recovered patients to 7,579.

Bangladesh reported a large number of new cases of coronavirus—1,694 and 24 deaths in 24 hours before Friday morning.
