Plasma Therapy Applied to Dr Zafrullah

Doctors of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Hospital applied plasma therapy to Covid-19 infected Dr. Zafrullah Chowdhury 's body for coronavirus therapy on Tuesday.

The Founder and Trustee of Gonoshasthaya Kendra was transfused 200 ml of 'O' positive blood plasma on Tuesday night after completion of his regular kidney dialysis.

Dr Symum Arafat Pantha, Registrar of Anesthesia Department of Gonoshasthaya Kendra Hospital confirmed this to media.

Plasma transfusion was done with the aid of "Sandhani," a volunteer association of medical and dental students, and the Department of Transfusion Medicine at Dhaka Medical College. Plasma donors have been identified through the tireless efforts of "Sandhani" volunteers.

Zafrullah Chowdhury has been staying at home in isolation since he was tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
