4 Killed As Storm Swept Joypurhat

A mother and her two children along with another person were killed after a tree fell on their house as a storm swept in Joypurhat on early Wednesday.

The incident took place at Khalishagari village of Khetlal municipality of the district.

The deceased were identified as Shilpi Begum, wife of Joynal Miah of the same village, her seven-year-old son Nawaz Mia and three-year-old son Niamul Hossain.

Khetlal Police Station OC Siddiqur Rahman confirming the matter said the mother was sleeping in the same room with his two children at night. When the storm started, a tree next to their house falls on the tin shed house. They were seriously injured.

Neighbors later rescued the mother and two children and took them to the Upazila Health Complex. While undergoing treatment there, first Newaz and later Shilpi and Niamul also died.
