Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh soared up by a significant number recently as 1,541 new patients tested positive in the 24-hour period till Tuesday, taking the total number of cases to 38,292.
During this period, 22 more people died as a consequence of the widespread of COVID-19 disease, resulting in 544 deaths.
Prof. Dr Nasima Sultana, Additional Director-General of the Directorate-General for Health Services (DGHS), made the statement at his daily online briefing.
In the last 24 hours, 48 coronavirus testing laboratories across the country tested 8,015 samples, she added.
